Jessie Buttafuoco

(Co-Founder, Operations Manager, Producer, Director, Choreographer)  first stepped on stage at age three dancing to “These Boots are Made for Walkin." She unknowlingly commanded the attention of the entire audience by singing every lyric at the top of her lungs and dancing with confidence and sass.  Since then, she has walked, danced, and performed on plenty of stages across the country in  dance recitals & competitions, choral concerts, public speaking engagements,  stand-up comedy, improv shows, stage plays, and musicals. Participating in the Performaing Arts as a child undoubtedly gave Jessie the tools and confidence to succeed in any endeavor, both on and off the stage.  She has over 25 years experience in dance, has performed in countless productions throughout the years, and has made multiple television appearences including The Oprah Winfrey Show and The Ricki Lake Show.  In addition to performing, Jessica has been directing and choreographing musicals for children since 1998.  Her passion for education drives her to be the best teacher and role model she can be for her students. She believes every child has a voice, and every child deserves a chance to use it!  Jessica holds a Bachelors Degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is a certified Early Childhood Educator. She is  beyond blessed and thankful that Encore Arts is not only her passion, but also  a successful and growing business. 

Randi Kearney

(Co-Founder, Artistic Director, Producer, Director, Choreographer)  has been performing in dance and musical theatre since she was 2 years old in mommy and me classes. Since then, she consistently took dance classes and at the age of 9, joined a local community theatre. After performing in over 30 musicals, she joined the staff and eventually became the head choreographer. After high school, Randi was accepted to the prestigious Tisch School of the Arts, at New York University, as a theatre major. She continued her professional studies at NYU, studying dance, acting, and voice at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. After graduation, Randi made her rounds in the professional world of New York City. After discovering teaching was her absolute passion, she returned to Los Angeles where she inspires children with her love of theatre through Encore Arts Center.

Joel Maki (Musical Director) is recently transplanted from New York City, where he spent the last 10 years performing as a musical theater actor in international, national and regional productions. Some highlights include Hairspray, RENT, The Sound of Music, and The Fantasticks. As a vocalist, Joel was a featured singer with the Boston Pops under the direction of Keith Lockhart and John Williams. Additionally, working in the classical realm, Joel has sung in oratorios, song cycles and operas that range from Handel to Schumann. Recently graduated from Hunter College with a Bachelors of Music with a vocal jazz concentration, Joel has furthered his education and training to include the jazz idiom. With over 13 years of professional experience, training and education, Joel focuses his teaching on finding the right songs that showcase the singer's vocal ability and musical  individuality. Joel's goal is for each student to find joy and creative discovery through the expression of music and singing.

Daniel Jones

(Director/ Choreographer) has been a apart of the Encore Arts family for over 4 years. He is beyond thrilled to have found such a wonderful program that empowers children through the performing arts. Due to his personal experiences being involved in competitive dance and musical theatre throughout his own childhood, Daniel is passionate about providing children a fun, safe, and creative environment in which each child can shine! After attending Santa Fe University of Art and design, Daniel followed his dreams and ambitions to the Big Apple where he worked and studied with some amazingly talented groups such as Tap Dogs, Groundlings and many more. Now back in California, Daniel has continued his passion for the arts though many endeavors. He has produced/directed multiple web-series, continued his Groundlings education, facilitated acting/ improv workshops, and is currently co-founder and costume designer of Belle’s Wonderland, a specialized boutique online. Daniel is looking forward to yet another amazing and fulfilling year with Encore Arts!

Sasha Weiss

(Director/ Choreographer) has been performing in musicals since childhood. In fact, Sasha and Encore Owners, Jessie and Randi, participated in the same children’s theatre program in the 90’s, where they initially met and performed together.  She followed her dreams and moved to New York City, where she directed and choreographed musicals for children at Applause Performing Arts Center. Outside of the classroom, Sasha has also produced and directed countless Cabaret’s and Benefit Concerts for various philanthropic endeavors across the nation. Sasha recently graduated with a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Musical Theater from San Diego State University. She is thrilled to be a part of the Encore Arts family, sharing her experience, passion, and sass with children all over Los Angeles. 

Jordan Katcher (Director/ Choreographer)  burst onto the theatre scene as the Camp Director in his 5th grade performance of Camp Goodnight. After rave reviews in theatre, Jordan picked up the ball and ran with it. He continued to perform on stage and began studying filmmaking. During the summer, Jordan could be found at YMCA Camp, Ralph S. Mason, where he transitioned from camper  to Counselor/ Director In Training over the course of 11 years. After high school Jordan followed his passions to Los Angeles where he has been studying with The Upright Citizens Brigade. Jordan is so thrilled to be a part of the Encore Arts family!

Kyle Moore (Accompanist) began playing piano at age 5, then discovered filmmaking at age 9; both became lifelong passions. After spending only one day at community college in rural Illinois, Kyle hit the road, winding up in Los Angeles in 2009. Currently, Kyle shoots, edits, and composes music for various film and TV projects. While not composing, Kyle plays various piano gigs around LA, sharing his passion and talent with the masses. He is thrilled to have met Encore Owners Jessie and Randi in 2010 when they first created Encore Arts. Since then, he has used his "magical piano playing skills" to accompany over 20 productions with students ranging from pre-school to high-school.
